The Filipec family is one of the oldest families in Samobor, and we are renowned as producers of Bermet and Mustarda, traditional products that have been made within our family since the 19th century.
The family was originally engaged in the trade and processing of leather, while Bermet and Mustarda were produced exclusively for private use.
In 1946, Josip “Joco” Filipec had a large part of his property and his leather workshop, which employed around 30 people, confiscated. Left without a livelihood, and faced with the difficult circumstances that followed, he began producing Bermet and Mustarda commercially. Over time, these unique products became a symbol and trademark of the town of Samobor.
